When I was in sixth grade, my friends and I started a Revelation Bible study at recess. We would take our Bibles, climb on top of the playscape, and discuss what this mysterious last chapter of the Bible really meant. Though our Bible study was short-lived, my personal study of Revelation kept going, and it continues to be a chapter I desire to more fully understand. Revelation is a complex book, full of rich knowledge, but it can sometimes be difficult to decipher.
For individuals who want to explore the meaning of Revelation in depth, The Thrill of Hope: A Commentary on Revelation is a good book to study. In a nutshell, it is a thoughtful, interesting commentary on the book of Revelation. The book is nicely divided into different sections, making it easy to use this book for devotionals. Although the book delves into details, it is also easy to follow. The writing style flows fluidly, seamlessly relating Revelation’s verses to key examples. I especially enjoyed reading the discussion questions as the end of the chapters. The Thrill of Hope is a handy resource for Christians or Biblical scholars, and it would be a helpful asset for a Revelation Bible study or personal daily devotionals.
