The Good, The Bad, and the Grace of God

When I requested a copy of Jep and Jessica Robertson’s book The Good, The Bad, and The Grace of God from BookLook Bloggers, I didn’t know what to expect. I had seen Sadie Robertson dance on Dancing with the Stars, and I had also previously reviewed Al and Lisa Robertson’s book A New Season. But when I started reading the book, I soon forget that this couple was part of Duck Dynasty, and I was interested in reading their personal stories and how Jep and Jessica ended up together.

My favorite parts of the book were the chapters written by Jessica, which were very relationship-focused, though I also liked Jep’s parts of the books dicussing duck hunting, since that is a topic I know very little about. It was sad reading about the way Jessica was treated by Jep’s friends, but I’m glad that Jep’s family was able to embrace Jessica as part of their family. Though Jessica had (spoilers ahead) been emotionally manipulated in her first marriage, I’m glad she was able to get past that experience, and go on to marry Jep and have four children. I was disappointed with some of the choices that Jep made, but I enjoy reading books about people’s lives, so I found this story of love and forgiveness to be really intriguing.

The Good, The Bad, and The Grace of God is available here on Amazon.
