In the book A Blonde Bengali Wife, Anne Hamilton tells her story of traveling to Bangladesh as part of a volunteer work program – and falling in love with the country and its people. The book is well-written, and Hamilton’s lively description and dialogue bring life to the pages. In essence, the book is very enjoyable to read! Through Hamilton’s writing, I definitely learned a lot about the culture of Bangladesh. However, it’s not just a great story – the book also promotes a charity; all proceeds from A Blonde Bengali Wife go to the UK charity Bhola’s Children, which supports disabled children on Bangladesh’s Island of Bhola.
