In Adapt or Die: Leadership Principles from an American General, Lt. General Rick Lynch shares key tenets of how to lead and adapt in a demanding world. Lynch tells stories about his army career, highlighting how he overcame adversity and developed specific leadership skills. I liked how Lynch talked about the importance of having aspiration, leading by example, and “demanding, not demeaning” others.

It was insightful getting a glimpse into the life of a Lt. General, and I really liked the book’s theme of the necessity of adaptation. The world is constantly changing around us, and often change is paradoxically the constant in our lives. The book is another reminder that change frequently instigates success, and one of the ways that we can lead is through adaptation.
