With Presidential elections coming up soon, Stephen Mansfield’s book Ask the Question: Why We Must Demand Religious Clarity From Our Presidential Candidates is a very relevant read. The book highlights the beliefs of various Presidents and world leaders, showing how their beliefs impacted their powerful positions. Some of the chapters which I found most interesting were those discussing Mitt Romney and Mormonism, Ronald Reagan and Christianity, and Thomas Jefferson and his nonreligious attitude. I also really liked the chapter “Milestones in American Religion and Politics,” which features a timeline of key events impacting America’s religious and political climate. The book is well organized, and with its large amount of facts and historical dates, it serves as a good history lesson.
