In Letters to My Daughters: The Art of Being a Wife, Barbara Rainey gives advice about marriage while also explaining what she believes a wife’s roles and responsibilities should be. Depending on your philosophy, Letters to My Daughters is a book that you will either love or disagree with. Because I am in the latter group, I would not personally recommend this book to my friends or family members. But, the book does have a nice structure; each chapter starts with a question about marriage, and Rainey spends the rest of the chapter answering the question and delivering key points in a clear and thorough manner, sometimes using stories from her life as examples. The book is aesthetically pleasing, and on some pages, Rainey’s central quotes are written in a large font and resemble calligraphy.
