Catch a Star: Shining Through Adversity to Become a Champion is the story of the WNBA All-Star Tamika Catchings. The book is written by Catchings with Ken Petersen. In the book, Catchings not onlu chronicles her basketball career, but she also tells stories about her childhood and Christian faith. I found it very interesting to read about Tamika’s college recruitment process, as well as her early love of the game of basketball. The book is inspirational; as a child, Tamika was born with hearing loss and was teased for wearing hearing aids, but she was able to use her limited hearing as an advantage of the court, because hearing less gave her more focus.
