I Don’t Wait Anymore

Ben Stein once said, “It’s amazing what ordinary people can do if they set out without preconceived notions.” The quote reminds me of the book I just read, I Don’t Wait Anymore: Letting Go of Expectations and Grasping God’s Adventure for You by Grace Thornton, in which the author talks about letting go of expectations for life and finding a fulfilling life now.

I Don’t Wait Anymore is written with an encouraging tone, and Thornton’s message of forgetting how life “should be” and finding fulfillement is positive and inspirational. Thornton shares stories from her life, including disappointments, and I think that her journey toward fulfillment and getting rid of preconceived ideas about life will resonate with a lot of people. Thornton writes with a feeling of authenticity, and I liked reading about her adventures.

The physical structure of the book itself is interesting. When I opened the book, I was surprised to find that the 238 pages felt like pages in a magazine. The book also includes a built-in orange ribbon bookmark to keep your place. The target audience would probably be women in their teens, twenties, and thirties. This book reminds us that we can find contentment amidst troubling times.
