Do you have “counterfeit comforts” in your life?
Counterfeit Comforts: Freedom from the Imposters That Keep You from True Peace, Purpose, and Passion by Robia Scott is a book about discovering healing and freedom by drawing near to God. The author explores man’s search for comfort while sharing her own struggles with food and her feelings. It is a good book for someone seeking comfort from emotional distress.
Scott talks a lot about getting to the root of your feelings, with chapters such as “Feelings: Friend or Foe?” and “Do Not Believe Everything You Think.” One of the best chapters was “Out with the Old and In with the New,” which discusses the different stages a person might go through after coming to Christ.
