#BabyLove: My Toddler Life is an adorable children’s book written and illustrated by Corine Dehghanpisheh. The story is about a lively toddler whose mom takes pictures of him on her phone – and one day, when his mom isn’t looking, he grabs the phone and takes selfies. Afterwards, the mother and son look through pictures on the phone and reminisce about sweet memories, and then, his mom puts down the phone so that they can play together.
#BabyLove simultaneously shows that technology has a positive function, but that in order to build meaningful relationships, we often need to “unplug.” The book’s simplistic rhyming scheme gives the text a classic “Fun with Dick and Jane” feel, and early readers may enjoy reading the book aloud. It is a quick-moving story with an air of excitement, and the drawings are very fun to look at. The pages are creatively formatted, and some of the drawings appear as if you were looking at them through a cell phone camera. It is a really cute book to own!
