A Stolen Heart is a novel by Amanda Cabot that takes place in 1880 Texas Hill Country. The book focuses on Lydia Cabot, a former schoolteacher from up north who moves to Texas to reunite with her fiance. But things take a turn when Lydia finds out that her fiance has disappeared – and is now married to someone else, with a baby on the way. Meanwhile, there are secrets to be unraveled in this town, and there’s a handsome sheriff that Lydia might just fall for.
I enjoyed Cabot’s novel In Firefly Valley, so I knew that this story would be strong and the writing style would be good. Both books take place in Texas (though In Firefly Valley is a modern tale), so it was interesting to read books set against the backdrop of the southwestern state. A Stolen Heart has a great flow, and I liked seeing Lydia use her mind and overcome obstacles.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review A Stolen Heart. I appreciate your comments and, of course, I’m delighted that you enjoyed the story.
