I Will Not Fear: My Story of a Lifetime of Building Faith Under Fire is a memoir by Melba Pattillo Beals, a journalist and one of the first African-American students to integrate Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. I loved reading about Beals’ life: her educational journey, her family, and her many other interesting experiences.
Beals is a wonderful example of strength and resilience, and the book shows the extreme impact of education on a person’s life. The book also provides great lessons for following your dreams. Many people in Beals’ life shot down her dreams, but she still persisted through hard work and dedication to achieve those dreams. I Will Not Fear is truly an uplifting book.
