A Defense of Honor by Kristi Ann Hunter is the story of the social worker Kit FitzGilbert and her love interest, Graham, Lord Wharton, set against the backdrop of 1816 London. The characters are likable, and I enjoyed seeing Kit FitzGilbert thrive in her quest to help mothers and children.

The dialogue is expressive and compelling, helping to unfold a story that focuses on loving others and choosing to do what is right. A Defense of Honor is a intriguing and interesting story. Though it deals with serious historical issues, it is also a good book to pick up when you are looking for an escapist fictional read. This book is a great choice for historical fiction enthusiasts.
