Mama Kisses, Papa Hugs is a delightful children’s book written by Lisa Tawn Bergren and illustrated by Aleksander Zolotic. The book begins in a cute manner, with a little boy telling his mother that he is too old for kisses. His mother then tells him about how different animals – such as sloths, lions and tigers, polar bears, and horses – kiss their children. The writing is strong, and I like the illustrations, with their vibrant purple tones and cool blue colors. The pictures of different animals are fun and exciting for children to look at. I love how the book shows us how God loves us, giving us his kisses from Heaven. With its theme of bedtime kisses and hugs, Mama Kisses, Papa Hugs makes a great bedtime story.
