Laugh Out Loud Pocket Doodles

Need a laugh? Like to draw? Then you might want to check out Laugh-Out-Loud Pocket Doodles for Boys or Laugh-Out-Loud Pocket Doodles for Girls, written by Rob Elliott and illustrated by Jonny Hawkins. I was so excited to receive review copies of both of these books!

The books are formatted in a fun way; each page includes part of a picture, or sometimes half of a drawing, that the customer can finish. Each page also includes a joke and a guideline of what to draw. For example, in the boys’ edition, one page says, “Why did the cheetah get glasses?” (Answer: Because it was seeing spots), along with a drawing of a headless cheetah. The bottom of the page gives the instruction, “Do a spot drawing of his head…and don’t forget the glasses!”

The drawings are cute, and the jokes are funny. The books are of a nice size; though they serve many purposes, they would make a great activity for a roadtrip. The partially-drawn illustrations encourage children to be artistic and creative, and these books are a great combination of comedy and art.

Both books are available on Amazon. Check out Laugh-Out-Loud Pocket Doodles for Boys here, and Laugh-Out-Loud Pocket Doodles for Girls here.
