What does it mean to be successful? From a wordly perspective, success might be fame or financial gain. But God’s view of success for our lives is different. In Stronger: How Hard Times Reveal God’s Greatest Power, author Clayton King explores how the things that we see as weaknesses and insecurities can be used to help mold us into God’s image.

This is a very encouraging and inspirational book. It shows how we can take bad experiences and turn them into good. I liked how King emphasized how we should worship God during our weak times, and I also liked how he pointed out how fear itself is faith – it’s just faith in the wrong kind of thing.

This book reminds me of the song “Give Thanks,” in which one of the lines is, “Now let the weak say ‘I am strong,’ let the poor say ‘I am rich,’ because of what the Lord has done for us.” And just like that song, this book is a testament to how God can transform our weaknesses, making us strong in the Lord. In Stronger, we see what it truly means to be successful.

I received a review copy from Baker Books. Stronger is available here on Amazon.
