Christians sometimes say that they are “in this world, but not of this world.” In the book Passing Through: Pilgrim Life in the Wilderness, Jeremy Walker examines how 21st-century Christians can relate to the modern world. It is an engaging and well-written book, and it opens the door for individuals to contemplate many vital questions, such as what our identity is within a culture that often conflicts with our beliefs.
The book sends a great message, and it explores how Christians are “pilgrims” in this world. Walker’s points are well researched and well thought out, and he delves deep into subjects instead of just skimming the surface. My favorite chapters were “Serve the King,” which discusses disciple-making, and “Relieve the Suffering,” which talks about ministering to our neighbors.
I received a review copy from Cross Focused Reviews. You can find the book here on Amazon. To access an interview with Jeremy Walker on The Shaun Tabatt Show, click here.
