I have always been fascinated with reading about the ancient Greeks and Romans, so I was very happy to receive a copy of Liam A. Faulkner’s Ancient Medicine: Sickness and Health in Greece and Rome. The book is written in a thorough and detailed manner, and it is formatted in a way that the facts and information are easy (and fun) to comprehend. The book covers a variety of topics relating to ancient medicine, and I was particularly interested in the section about The Plague of Athens. I also learned a lot about archaic medicine in general, and I loved reading about ancient doctors, such as Hippocrates, Philistion, and Erasistratus. If you have an interest in medicine or ancient cultures, Ancient Medicine is a great book to read. You can find it here on Amazon.
