The Boy Born Dead is the story of David Ring, a boy who overcame his challenges to become an evangelist, motivational speaker, and leader of a Christian ministry. When Ring was born, the doctor initially pronounced him dead, and this would become symbolism in David’s life. Despite facing cerebral palsy and the loss of both of his parents during his childhood, Ring continuously showed others that he was a fighter and could do great things. The book is written from the perspective of Ring’s friend, David Wideman, and I enjoyed seeing their friendship throughout the story.
The Boy Born Dead is truly a wonderful book. It reminds us that life is not fair, but that people can still make the best of what they have been given. Ring has had so many obstacles in his life, yet he was able to navigate these obstacles and show others that their lives can be full of hope.
