Last Chance Hero, by Cathleen Armstrong, is the story of Andy Ryan, a football coach, and Dr. Jessica McLeod, who has never seen a football game in her life. These two people initially have trouble finding common ground, but they soon find themselves attracted to each other. The question is: will their relationship work out, or will their differences keep them apart?
The book is set against the quaint backdrop of the fictional Last Chance, New Mexico. I have read another book in this sweet series, At Home in Last Chance, and it was nice seeing local spots referenced again, such as the Dip ‘n’ Dine. The characters are likable, and I enjoyed watching the plot play out. Last Chance Hero is a nice, fun story, and it’s a good book to pick up when you’re looking for a pleasant fictional read.
