Jesus is for You: Stories of God’s Relentless Love by Judah Smith is partly a compilation of stories about the effect that Jesus has on people’s lives, and also partly a collection of beautiful photographs of nature and outdoor scenery, accented with large-print anecdotes and verses about God’s love.

If you only have a few minutes here and there to enjoy a book, it’s one of those books that you can easily pick up and immediately find an inspiring passage. One of my favorite parts of the book rhetorically asks, “What is the focal point of our lives? Is it self? Is it our efforts? Is is our good deeds? Or is it Jesus?”

Jesus is for You is very positive and upbeat, reminding us of the friendship and support we have in Jesus Christ. This would be a good gift for a Christian who likes to keep a collection of coffee table books. The book is small and fairly lightweight, but it is full of truth and wisdom.

Some of my favorite stories in the book were the accounts of people who turned their lives around and came to Christ after choosing a terrible path in life and realizing they needed redemption. It is interesting to go back and forth between reading the stories and looking at the gorgeous photographs with their relevant passages, which reiterate God’s powerful love for mankind.
