Waiting on God: What to do when God does nothing by Wayne Stiles explores what to do when we feel like God isn’t answering our prayers. The author uses Joseph in the Bible as an example of how character is often developed in a waiting period. The book sends the message that just because we are waiting, it doesn’t mean that God is doing nothing; He has a divine plan that we are unaware of. Stiles examines how hope and patience form within our hearts when we put our faith in God’s timing. The theme of the book reminds me of the Garth Brooks song lyrics, “Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers.”
