Butterfly Blink: A Book Without Words by Karl Beckstrand, is a picture book that showcases beautiful illustrations of butterflies and children. The drawings look like paintings on a canvas. Since the illustrations are open to intepretation, each reader will most likely find different meanings and themes in the story. When I looked through the pictures, I felt as if the story was saying that when we truly open our eyes, we can see the beauty of life.

On Amazon, the paperback version is currently $9.85 and the Kindle version is $2.99. Since the book is solely composed of pictures, it would probably be most enjoyable in paperback form.  The recommended age range is from 2 – 6, but children 10 and under may enjoy it.
