If at Birth You Don’t Succeed: My Adventures with Disaster and Destiny is a hilarious memoir by comedian Zach Anner, who tells the story of his life and career. Anner has cerebral palsy, and he writes the book from an optimistic and motivational perspective. The book is very, very funny, and it’s the kind of book that I didn’t want to put down. Anner is a talented and witty writer, and he reminds me of a young Dave Barry (though, unfortunately, Anner’s jokes are more irreverent). I liked reading about Anner’s life, from his job at Disney world to meeting his girlfriend Gillian Grassie via Twitter. If you haven’t yet watched Anner’s YouTube channel, I definitely recommend checking it out!
