Worry-Free Living: Trading Anxiety for Peace by Joyce Meyer talks about finding peace through Jesus Christ. If you enjoy Meyer’s no-nonsense preaching style, you will like this devotional. Throughout the book, Meyer talks about God’s grace, God’s plans, and casting our cares upon the Lord.
I especially liked the chapter “Trust God Completely,” in which Meyer discusses Philippians 4:11 (“I have learned how to be content in whatever state I am”). I also liked the chapter “Peace and Rest in the Presence of the Lord,” which talks about how Moses felt uncertainty, but asked God for His Presence to be with him. The book is 138 pages long, and at just 4.8 x 6.5 inches, it is rather small – though Worry-Free Living is also available in a large print edition. Each of the book’s twenty-four chapters is relatively short, so they could easily be incorporated into a daily devotional.
