Getting to Know Jesus: An Invitation to Walk with the Lord Day by Day by Eric Kampmann is a 365-day devotional journal, focusing on getting closer to Jesus. Each devotional, which takes up less than a page, includes a Bible verse and a corresponding message based on that verse. Two of my favorite devotionals were “I am the Good Shepherd,” based on John 10: 11-16, and “Judging,” based on Matthew 7: 1 – 2. I think that each page will allow the reader to learn more about the Bible and Jesus Himself. The content of the devotionals is thoughtful and packed with rich insight. One wonderful element of this book is that the devotionals are written in chronological order, starting with passages related to Jesus’ birth, and ending with passages related to Jesus’ death and resurrection.
