A Spectacle of Glory: God’s Light Shining Through Me Every Day by Joni Eareckson Tada is a year-long devotional journal – and a lovely one at that. The hardbound book is small – just 4.5 x 1.1 x 6.6 inches in size – but when you hold it in your hands, you feel like you’re holding a gem. Each page contains a devotion focusing on a difference verse. January 2, for example, concentrates on Mark 4: 10-11, while June 10 discusses Isaiah 43: 18 – 19. Joni relates the verses to real-life struggles, and she is very honest about life’s hardships. Joni ends each devotion with a prayer. As you read Joni’s prayer to God, you can practically hear her earnest, sincere voice, asking for God’s strength and provision.
Joni is an amazing evangelist, and she has yet again written a powerful book reflecting on God’s love for mankind. Though Oak Tree Reviews has not yet reviewed Joni’s 2015 nonfiction book, Joni and Ken: An Untold Love Story, it is high on the list of yet-to-be read books!
