The Acid Watcher Diet: A 28-Day Reflux Prevention and Healing Programme is a book by Dr. Jonathan Aviv about fighting acid reflux.
The first part of the book talks about why acid is harmful to your body. If you have acid reflux, are worried about its effect on your body, and are reading this book as a way to improve your acid reflux (in addition to seeing a doctor), then Part I might not be the most enjoyable to read. It is, however, educational.
Part II is where the diet part starts. Aviv talks in general about what to foods to eat and what foods to avoid. The book certainly has a lot of information – and Aviv explores the science behind his advice – but if you’ve already read quite a lot on the subject of acid reflux and eating, you may already know most of what Aviv is saying.
Part III of the book is a 28-Day blueprint for “reducing acid damage, revving up metabolism, and staying healthy for life.” This is the best part of the book, because Aviv lists specific foods that make up his “healing phase” food list.
If I knew nothing about acid reflux regulation, I would find this book very helpful.
