I enjoyed reading Alexandra Kuykendall’s book Loving My Actual Life, so I was excited to read her new book, Loving My Actual Christmas. The book helps people focus on the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ – and not get overwhelmed by the commercial aspects of the holiday season.
The book has a fun feel to it, and a nice air of excitement. It was interesting to read about the author’s life, her Christmas traditions, and her experiment to be present in her life “as it is” during the Christmas season. This book may help readers reflect on how they can eliminate certain stressors during the holidays. The book focuses on making Christmas about Jesus Christ. But Kuykendall also talks about a variety of organizational topics related to Christmas planning, such as scheduling, finances, and navigating relationships – and even the logistics surrounding Christmas gatherings. It is an encouraging book.
