Living the Spirited-Formed Life: Growing in the 10 Principles of Spirit-Filled Discipleship by Jack Hayford discusses growing spiritually in ten principles: committing to hear God’s voice, living in the power of baptism, celebrating the Lord’s Table, walking in the spirit of forgiveness, feeding on the Word of God, maintaining integrity of heart, abiding in the fullness of the spirit, living a life of submission, practicing solitude, and living as a worshiper.
It is a thought-provoking, reflective book. Reading the book is like reading a series of sermons. My favorite chapter was “The Sixth Discipline: Maintaining Integrity of Heart”; among other things, the chapter talks about the meaning of integrity and explores what “being spiritual” is. Throughout the book, Hayford writes with detail, and and he delivers interesting theological insight. Living the Spirit-Formed Life would be a good book for a Bible study or personal devotional.
