Reading the Bible with Rabbi Jesus: How a Jewish Perspective Can Transform Your Understanding by Lois Tverberg is an informative book that examines the Bible from a Jewish lens. One of my favorite chapters was “Greek Brain, Hebrew Brain” – especially the parts that talked about concept versus illustration and the power of a concrete metaphor. I also enjoyed the idea of learning to “think small” in the chapter “Like Grasshoppers in Our Own Eyes.” Furthermore, I really appreciated the Tools and Reflections section at the end of each chapter, which suggests relevant Biblical passages to read and provides reflective discussion questions.
