Create! A Girl’s Guide to DIY, Doodles & Design by Ashley Mays is an exciting book with over 50 crafts and activities. The crafts and activities are divided into DIY projects (such as a soap box prayer kit), doodle projects (like a doodle dress), and design projects (such as a braided fabric wrap bracelet). Some of my favorite project ideas were the clothespin wreath photo holder, the curlicue paper garland, the ribbon chandelier, and the reverse applique t-shirt and tote bag.

Though the projects are intended for girls, they are also great for women, especially because it is sometimes hard to find simple yet cute crafts to make. Each craft includes detailed directions along with a high-quality picture featuring the finished craft. It is a beautiful book, and it is definitely a book that I will want to look at and reference from time to time.
