Reforesting Faith: What Trees Teach Us About the Nature of God and His Love for Us is an engrossing book by Matthew Sleeth, MD. When I first glanced at this book, I obviously noticed it was about trees, and I was excited to learn more facts about them. And through this book, I did. The book explores the great connection between trees and God’s love. One of my favorite chapter was “Finding Common Ground,” especially when the author talks about how trees bind us together. Another favorite chapter of mine was “Christ and the Cross”; I like how Sleeth points out that “trees, like Jesus, give rather than take.” Through this book, we learn about so many great examples of how trees were a major part of Biblical stories, and we see how trees can serve as allegorical parallels in life.
