She’s Almost a Teenager: Essential Conversations to Have Now, written by Peter and Heather Larson and David and Claudia Arp, discusses important conversations to have with your pre-teen child, as well as changes to look forward to during your child’s teen years. My personal parenting philosophy is much different than that of the authors, but I still found the book to be helpful and provide solid advice. I liked the sections of the book that talk about how parental roles change as children age, and some of my favorite parts of the book focused on how to approach topics such as faith, friends, and body image. The book includes a lot of great conversation starters to have with your daughters, and I think that many parents and tweens will enjoy answering and exploring the authors’ discussion questions.
