The Horse of My Heart: Stories of the Horses We Love, edited by Callie Smith Grant, is a collection of essays about women and their horses. I loved seeing all of the authors’ different perspectives and how horses play a part in their lives. One of my favorite stories was “The Art of the Who,” written by Sarah Parshall Perry, author of Sand in my Sandwich. The book is slightly reminiscent of a Chicken Soup for the Soul compilation. The authors have learned important life lessons from their experiences with horses, and through these beautiful essays, the authors teach these lessons to the readers.
