The Elements of Landscape Oil Painting: Techniques for Rendering Sky, Terrain, Trees, and Water by Suzanne Brooker is a beautiful coffee table book that features informative art instruction. The 195-page book covers an assortment of topics relating to oil painting, from flicker strokes to chiseled strokes and cross contours. The instructional content is very helpful, clearly directing the reader how to better approach fine details in their oil paintings. I especially liked the section about bending cylinders and drawing trunks and branches. The paintings showcased in the book look magnificent, and just gazing at them is inspirational.
