Priceless Weddings for Under $5,000: Your Dream Wedding for Less Money Than You Ever Thought Possible by Kathleen Kennedy offers practical advice for keeping the wedding costs low on your special day. Kennedy not only talks about how to watch your budget, but she also shares great ideas about making choices regarding food, photos, music, etc. Throughout the book, Kennedy includes recipe ideas, and I also liked her section featuring sample vows.
In the past year, I have reviewed three other books related to wedding planning: Do-It-Yourself Wedding Ceremony, The Wedding A to Z, and The Knot Little Books of Big Wedding Ideas. Out of these four, if you were going to just buy one book, I would recommend buying Priceless Weddings. The Wedding A to Z does not have as in-depth information as Priceless Weddings, and while The Knot Little Books of Weddings has beautiful and inspiring photographs, a frugal buyer could probably gain the same inspiration from Pinterest. If you need assistance with writing vows and officiant speeches, Do-It-Yourself Wedding Ceremony is an excellent tool, though it mostly focuses on vows and ceremonial practices. The best thing about Priceless Weddings, however, is that it is very thorough, covering the wedding process in a holistic manner.
