An Insider’s Guide to Praying for the World by Brian C. Stiller identifies specific prayer needs in different countries, and features encouraging stories of Christian missions to these countries. It’s a thoughtful and creative book, and the end of each chapter includes a detailed prayer for the country in focus. There are 52 chapters in all, which cover a good sampling of countries from around the world. I liked how each chapter first gives us background information about the country, and then allows us to see a first-hand account of the country through an inspirational story. I also liked how the author mentions specific things that need to be prayed for within a particular country. An Insider’s Guide to Praying for the World educates readers on some of the political and historical occurrences in other countries, and it also serves as a way for people to broaden their horizons.
