Jesus Helps Me is a darling children’s book, written by Callie Grant and illustrated by Missi Jay. The theme is based on John 12:44-47. The front cover shows the cartoon face of a child, but the interior of the book actually focuses on pictures of birds, Bible passages, and messages that tie the birds and Bible passages together. In all, the book features seven photographs of birds (swan, kingfisher, stork, artic tern, owl, cardinal, and woodpecker) and is eighteen pages long. It is a board book, so it has a nice, hard surface. I believe that young children will really enjoy looking at the interesting photographs, learning about the birds, and being reminded of God’s powerful love for them.
