The NIrV Love Letters from God Holy Bible is a hardcover Bible that features “love letters from God” written by Glenys Nellist. Amazon lists the age range for this book as 6 – 10 years old; Oak Tree Reviews thinks that it might be more appropriate for 6 – 8-year-olds or 6 to 9-year-olds.

It is a New International Reader’s Version Bible. The verse John 3:16 is translated as, “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.” Philippians 4:6 reads as, “Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and give thanks to him.”

The 1,248-page Bible is 5.5 x 1.2 x 8.5 inches in size and includes black serifed text with blue section headings. The book includes a built-in blue ribbon bookmark. Though the supplemental text is suitable for both girls and boys, girls may be more attracted to the cover of the book.

The Bible features 80 personal love letters from God, 80 prompts encouraging kids to write their own letters to God, highlighted verses to remember, and eight supplemental pages, such as a page devoted on how to pray, or pages of relevant maps. One of the supplements is an introductory page where parents can write their child’s name, when they received the Bible, and who gave it to them. The book is relatively light – about 1.5 pounds – and would not be too difficult for a child to carry to church and Sunday school.
